Photon Crystal Energy Technology Ltd. (hereinafter Photon Crystal) is a high-tech company jointly founded by a team of PhDs returned from Australia and alumni of Peking University. The founding team includes one Academician, one Professor, two PhDs and several masters. The core founder, Prof. Fuzhi Huang, has been focused on the research of high-efficiency, stable, large-area printable Perovskite Solar Cells at lower cost for more than a decade, and well-known for his abundant experience in solar cell development and deep technology insights.
Photon Crystal's core business is to develop large-area Perovskite Solar Modules with high efficiency, long lifetime and low carbon footprint to achieve large-scale industrialization and commercialization. The team has developed a proprietary large-area perovskite thin-film printing technology and has achieved fabrication of large-area perovskite solar modules with industry-leading PCE, showing leading comprehensive performances amongst counterparts. Photon Crystal has been backed by a number of top-tier venture funds with over one hundred million RMB.

By producing high-quality and low-cost photovoltaic (PV) products, Photon Crystal will make solar energy available for everyone and significantly contribute to China's grand goals of carbon neutrality and carbon peaking, as well as to the green energy transition across the world.
The National Strategy of China for Energy Development has set the goals of achieving carbon peaking before 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060. Supporting policies and working plans for achieving these goals have been made accordingly. Perovskite PV modules have the advantages of production with low carbon emission at lower cost to reduce carbon footprint, making it affordable for everyone and promoting the application of PV at all scenarios.
Photon Crystal’s core team has more than ten years of R&D experience in the field of perovskite solar cells development. The R&D team include one Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, one Professor of Wuhan University of Science and Technology and dozens of PhDs and Masters, with industry leading R&D capabilities.
Empowered by the advanced equipment of the industry-leading PV lab platform, Photon Crystal has achieved certified cell PCE over 25%, a first-tier industry record. Both HF cycle and DH test result have passed IEC61215 standard, with over 70 cycles and 1800 hours, almost no attenuation.
Photon Crystal's 100MW pilot plant, located in the Nanhai District, Foshan City, will be completed and put into operation in 2024. The pilot plant has seamless integration of production and R&D, highly intelligent and automated, combination of modularization and flexibility. The pilot line is capable of achieving lean manufacturing by optimizing supply chain management with real-time data-driven decision-making. The integrated design of BIPV and energy storage will reduce carbon emissions effectively.
